Free vs Fixed TimeBlocks

Category: General by: Gijs Nelissen

We've updated our timeblock system. You now have the option to add Free Blocks to your TimeSheet.

Free blocks vs Fixed blocks

Free blocks are basically timeblocks without a stop or start moment. This allows you to easily add new blocks with a total value. Another advantage is that you can add 'negative' blocks. (e.g. for a discount.)

Screenshot with free (green clock icon) and fixed (red clock icon) blocks:

Update: We've also updated our visual timesheet layout. Blocks that span multiple days will be split into blocks spread over several days. This will only occur in the calendar timesheet itself, don't worry we won't be splitting up your timeblocks, we implemented these changes to make sure you can clearly see that a block is spanning multiple days..

Better Management Functions

Category: General by: Gijs Nelissen

New functions listed below.

Goto a User Calendar (requested feature)

User Listing : Link to calendar

See those 2 buttons at the start of each user line ? Use these buttons to instantly go to that user’s calendar. Note that this functionality is only for managers/company owners, so if you are using trackmypeople as a freelancer (single user), you won’t see these buttons.

Improved distinction “My Timesheet” and “Reports”

The “My Timesheet” section only holds personal data. If you are company owner or project manager you will have a “Report” section where you can get an overview of all your assigned user timeblocks.

Just on top of the day or week calendar on the report page you have a dropdown of related users/employees. Use this to switch the view to the users view.

Calendar : Switch User

Switch to “Today” (requested feature)

We added a small button just between the go forward / backward buttons. Using this button your calendar will switch to today.

Calendar Overview : Switch to today

More features coming soon…

Calendar Integration + Bugfixes/Features

Category: General by: Gijs Nelissen

You may have noticed we haven't been updating trackmypeople.com that much the last 2 days. In the background we were working on a much requested 'calendar' integration.

Log-in to your account and find out what we are talking about. In the 'my timesheet' section you will find two new buttons : Day View & Week View, these pages will give you a visual overview of the registered timeblocks for that period. Use the controls on top to navigate to previous weeks/days.

You can use the 'edit project' page to set a color for your project, this way all timeblocks for that project will be colored as specified. We will be adding a month calendar overview page soon

Other bugfixes / Improvements :

  • Better support for different Cultures (i18n)
  • Improved API response times
  • Enhanced FAQ styling
  • Seperate Support/Help page
  • Added colorpicker on project preferences
  • Added company-invite for users with no account
  • Ticket / Bugtracker : reply notification (user will now get a message when ticket was updated).

Keep en eye on this blog for more news.
